The formation of teeth, also known as odontogenesis, is a complex process that begins in utero, around the sixth week of embryonic development. There are three stages to this process: the bud stage, the cap stage, and the bell stage.

Summary

Dental pulp measurements from radiographs accurately estimate age in the Indian population. Pulp-to-tooth and pulp-to-root ratios (X1, X2, X3) are reliable age indicators, unlike tooth root length ratio (X4).
