Associations between SLC2A9 polymorphisms and gout susceptibility : A meta-analysis.

Genetic variations in solute carrier family 2 and facilitated glucose transporter member 9 (SLC2A9) were analyzed for their association with gout. Specific SLC2A9 polymorphisms were found to protect against gout development in Caucasian and Asian populations.
