HDL functionality in South Asians as compared to white Caucasians

South Asians exhibit higher cardiovascular disease risk, potentially due to impaired high-density lipoprotein (HDL) function. This study found reduced HDL anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory capacities in South Asian adults and neonates, suggesting a link to their elevated cardiovascular risk.
