Weight gain after globus pallidus internus deep brain stimulation (GPi-DBS) in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients is linked to improved motor function, not metabolic changes. This suggests GPi-DBS selectively targets motor circuits, impacting weight differently than STN-DBS.

- These findings support the motor-selective effects of GPi-DBS, distinguishing it from STN-DBS regarding weight changes.
