Abstract:
The author analyzes the causes of vasovagal arrest of cardiac activity during microlaryngoscopy when the cardio pulmonary finding is normal. After 1220 microsurgical operations the authors observed in the course of 15 years 86 local lesions of the mucosa incl. transient pareses of the lingual nerve, the glossopharyngeal and hypoglossus nerve (7%). Sudden death occurred only in one patient (0.08%).
