The nurse monitors important parameters and thus has the opportunity to promptly detect warning signs of toxic conditions. Awareness of the toxic potential of aminoglycosides as well as knowledge of the signs and potentiators of toxic reactions can make nurses a vital link in the safe administration of aminoglycosides.
