[Pretreatment in periodontal therapy]

Initial treatment is of central importance in dental interventions for marginal periodontal lesions. The hygienic phase must be successfully concluded before further measures of periodontal surgery or bigger reconstructions of any kind are undertaken. In this way optimal prognosis is achieved for all phases of therapy.
