Women's prepregnancy underweight as a risk factor for preterm birth: a retrospective study

Maternal underweight increases the risk of preterm birth (PTB). Even mild underweight is linked to higher PTB rates, with severe underweight posing the greatest risk. This association holds across different types of preterm births.
