Conceptualizing primary and secondary pathological exercise using available measures of excessive exercise

Pathological exercise (PE) is conceptualized differently; this study found primary PE to be more addictive and secondary PE (linked with eating disorders) more compulsive. Men and women have equal risk, but primary PE is more common in men, and secondary PE in women.
