Summary

Pre-existing amblyopia and dissociated vertical deviation (DVD) are significant risk factors for developing consecutive exotropia after bilateral medial rectus (BMR) recession surgery for esotropia. Identifying these factors can help predict and potentially prevent postoperative alignment issues.
