Abstract:
Commenting on Ph. Laporte and all's article "A Kala Azar focus in Air (Niger); first confirmed Nigerian case", the author calls that a Kala Azar focus in Hoggar has been reported in 1956 and 1957 (3 articles). It has been confirmed by the presence of Leishmaniae in some spinal cords discovered during systematic surveys of Saharan populations. Phlebotomi are the vector, and among them Ph. perniciosus and Ph.. longicuspis. The Kala Azar focus revealed recently in Air seems to be an extension of the one in Hoggar.
