Type 4 appendiceal diverticulum within a de Garengeot hernia

• Histopathology identified a type 4 appendiceal diverticulum within the incarcerated appendix.
• No evidence of appendicitis was found.
• This represents a rare instance of appendiceal diverticulum within a de Garengeot hernia.

Implications:

• De Garengeot hernias present diagnostic challenges and require high clinical suspicion.
• Early surgical management is vital to prevent complications like perforation.
