Super-resolution fluorescence microscopy (SRFM) provides a better resolution than conventional fluorescence microscopy by reducing the point spread function (PSF). PSF is the light intensity distribution from a point that causes it to appear blurred. Researchers developed droplet enhanced fluorescence (DEF) for ultrasensitive detection in microliter liquid samples. This method achieved low detection limits for fluorescein sodium and single-stranded DNA, offering a new technique for sensitive sample analysis.
