Unspoken meanings: qualitative research and multi-media analysis
1Postgraduate Nursing Studies, University of Wales College of Medicine.
Abstract:
The use of interviews as qualitative data collection methods is common in nursing, nurse education and social science research ( 1 , 2 ). Once interviews have been carried out, they are usually transcribed by the researcher, who then attempts an analysis of them. Without the analysis, we would not, presumably, have research. Most people, I imagine, would claim that it was part of the researcher's role to attempt some sort of analysis.
