Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the long-term efficacy of Argon laser trabeculoplasty (ALT).
  • To identify factors influencing success rates of ALT.
  • To assess ALT as a treatment for various glaucoma types.

  • Retrospective analysis of 134 eyes from 94 glaucoma patients.
  • Follow-up period of three to ten years.
  • Success defined by IOP < 20 mm Hg or reduced medication with no visual field progression.

  • Overall success rate was 70% at three years, decreasing to 55% by six years.
  • 26 eyes maintained controlled glaucoma for six to ten years.
