Purpose of the Study:

To develop and implement an educational program to support nurses pursuing critical care certification.
To create an empowering environment for nurses undergoing the certification process.

Main Methods:

A 7-month educational program was implemented in a Canadian intensive care unit.
The Humanist model and problem-based learning were utilized as theoretical and pedagogical frameworks.
A qualitative questionnaire assessed the program's impact post-intervention.

Main Results:

The program effectively addressed nurses' specific learning needs.
Participants reported feeling well-supported by their institution during the certification process.

Conclusions:

This educational initiative can enhance nurses' professional and personal development.
