    Summary

    This case study highlights a rare instance of pelvic osteosarcoma in a young woman, complicated by an extensive tumor thrombus. Such venous extension is uncommon in osteosarcoma cases.

    • Osteosarcoma is a primary bone malignancy typically affecting long bones.

    Observation:

    • An 18-year-old female presented with pelvic osteosarcoma.
    • A significant tumor thrombus was identified originating in the left iliac vein.
    • The thrombus extended into the inferior vena cava, indicating advanced disease.

    Findings:

    • This case represents one of only 14 documented instances of tumor thrombus associated with osteosarcoma in the medical literature.
    • The pelvic location of the osteosarcoma contributed to the extensive venous involvement.
