Summary

Blunt testicular trauma, often from accidents, can cause severe injury. Prompt surgical exploration and intervention are crucial for preserving the testicle and avoiding its removal.

A case report of a 48-year-old male motorcyclist presenting with acute scrotum after a collision.

Clinical examination revealed ecchymosis, perineal bruising, and significant swelling of the right hemi-scrotum.

Diagnostic imaging (ultrasound) confirmed a large hematoma and ruptured testicular capsule, leading to emergency surgical exploration.

Main Results:

The patient presented with signs of acute scrotum following a motorcycle accident.
Ultrasound revealed a ruptured right testicle with a significant hematoma.
Intraoperative findings confirmed a lower pole rupture, necessitating clot evacuation and debridement.

Conclusions:

Emergency assessment, diagnosis, and scrotal exploration are vital for managing acute testicular rupture.
Timely surgical intervention significantly improves the chances of testicular preservation and reduces the need for orchidectomy.
The possibility that testicular malignancy may lower the threshold for injury requires further investigation.
