Punctate Inner Choroidopathy (PIC) is a rare inflammatory eye condition affecting young women. Corticosteroid therapy effectively treated a 25-year-old woman with active retinal inflammation and vision loss.

Background:

Punctate Inner Choroidopathy (PIC) is a rare idiopathic inflammatory condition affecting the inner choroid.
It is classified under the spectrum of white dot syndromes.
PIC predominantly affects young, myopic, healthy women, often presenting bilaterally.

Observation:

The case involves a 25-year-old woman diagnosed with Punctate Inner Choroidopathy.
She presented with active inflammatory deposits in the retina of her left eye.
Low visual acuity was a significant symptom.

Findings:

Corticosteroid therapy was recommended for the patient.
The treatment demonstrated a good therapeutic effect.
This suggests corticosteroids are effective in managing active PIC.
