Summary

Investigating posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), this study found that lower intrusion symptoms and higher avoidance symptoms correlate with increased negative anger expressivity, with anger acting as a mediator.

Understanding the relationship between posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptom clusters and anger expression is crucial for effective treatment.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the mediating role of anger in the relationship between PTSD symptom clusters and negative expressivity.
To examine how specific PTSD symptoms, such as intrusion and avoidance, relate to overt negative behaviors in response to anger.

Main Methods:

Utilized multiple regression analysis to examine the associations between PTSD symptom clusters, anger, and negative expressivity.
Assessed participants' PTSD symptom clusters, internal anger experiences, and overt negative anger-related behaviors.

Lower posttraumatic stress disorder intrusion symptoms were significantly associated with higher levels of negative expressivity.
