Summary

Acculturation directly influences condom use intention among Somali and Ethiopian immigrants in Minnesota. Attitude did not mediate this relationship, highlighting the need for culturally sensitive public health interventions for immigrant HIV prevention.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To examine the mediating role of attitude in the relationship between acculturation and the intention to use male condoms.
  • To investigate condom use intentions among Somali and Ethiopian immigrants in heterosexual relationships in Minnesota.
