Abstract:
Giant-cell lesions of the temporomandibular joint are rare. In the present case a central giant-cell lesion of the temporomandibular joint is described, and the distinction between central giant-cell reparative granulomas and giant-cell tumors is discussed. Successful reconstruction of the temporomandibular joint by means of an 8 cm. costochondral graft in an elderly patient with a central giant-cell lesion of the mandibular condyle is also reported.
