Background:

Effective reconstruction of hand soft tissue defects requires early, single-stage, well-vascularized coverage.
Exposed vital structures necessitate full-thickness grafts and potential secondary reconstructions.

To evaluate the efficacy of the posterior interosseous artery flap for managing complex soft tissue defects in the hand.

A retrospective analysis of 12 patients with complex hand defects treated with the posterior interosseous artery flap over two years.
