Summary

Nuclear medicine imaging using SPECT and PET can detect multidrug resistance (MDR) in tumors. These techniques visualize drug efflux pumps like P-glycoprotein (Pgp) and multidrug resistance-associated protein (MRP) before or after chemotherapy.
