Catechol-O-methyl transferase activity in whole brown adipose tissue of rat in vitro

The activity of the extraneuronal uptake-catechol-O-methyl transferase system was measured in BAT pieces in vitro, under conditions preventing physicochemical modification of the added NE. Results suggest that this system might effectively modulate the thermogenic response of BAT to NE.
