    Summary

    Optical integration (OI) of CAD/CAM materials varied significantly under different lighting conditions. Direct neutral white light provided the best OI, while fluorescent light highlighted the most substantial differences between materials and natural teeth.

  • Six evaluators assessed the optical integration score (OIS) on a scale of 0 (worst) to 4 (optimal), with intact teeth serving as controls.
  • Main Results:

    • Direct neutral white light yielded high OIS, with means ranging from 2.67 to 3.83.
    • Indirect illumination resulted in lower OIS (mean 1.88), and fluorescent light showed the lowest mean OIS (1.67).
    • ENAMIC and VITA BLOCS Mark II exhibited superior optical integration under fluorescent light, whereas IPS e.max CAD and Paradigm MZ 100 showed low fluorescence.
