  • A 43-year-old patient presented with recurrent conjunctivitis, progressing to a corneal ulcer with infiltrates and calcium deposits.
  • Initial misdiagnosis as bacterial conjunctivitis delayed appropriate treatment.

Findings:

  • The patient was diagnosed with ocular rosacea and treated with doxycycline and topical protopic.
  • Despite amniotic membrane grafting, a deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty was required due to corneal transparency loss.

Implications:

  • Ocular rosacea presents with diverse ophthalmic manifestations, including severe corneal complications.
  • Prompt diagnosis and management are essential to prevent irreversible visual sequelae like keratinization and vision impairment.
