  • Evaluated temporal accuracy and data transfer latency between the eye tracker and stimulus presentation software.
  • Main Results:

    • Sgttoolbox enables synchronization between SimpleGazeTracker and Psychtoolbox.
    • Stable eye movement sampling frequency was achieved when stimulus presentation and recording occurred on a single PC.
    • Separating presentation and recording onto different PCs yielded better performance.
    • A minor average transfer delay of 2-4 ms was observed for eye position data.

    Conclusions:

    • Sgttoolbox offers a viable solution for researchers using Psychtoolbox who need to integrate eye-tracking data.
    • The toolbox is particularly suitable for studies where the observed 2-4 ms transfer delay does not significantly impact experimental outcomes.
    • This facilitates more accessible and potentially cost-effective eye-tracking research.
