[Clinical characteristics of endogenous affective psychoses with predominantly manic conditions]
Abstract:
Clinico-catamnestic method was applied to the study of 48 patients with endogenous affective psychosis with prevalent manic disorders. Three forms of the disease are described which differ in a range of clinical and pathological signs. The differences in the conditions under which these forms develop suggest that these are leading pathogenic mechanisms exerting a pathoplastic effect on the clinical picture of manifest manic disorders. Some of these parameters as the peculiarities of premanifest stage, clinical type and the course of manifest manic phases can be safely taken as predictors of the course of affective psychosis with preponderance of manic disorders.
