Background:

  • High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is recognized for its time efficiency in inducing physiological adaptations.
  • HIIT programs, including repeated sprint protocols, may optimize body composition through hormonal and metabolic changes.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the impact of a four-week Wingate-based repeated sprint training program on power and body composition in young adults.

Main Methods:

  • Participants (mean age 22.4 years) were randomized into an experimental or control group.
  • The experimental group underwent 12 sessions of repeated sprints (3-6 x 30s sprints with 4min recovery).
  • Body composition and Wingate test performance were assessed pre- and post-intervention.
