Trends in mortality for respiratory disease in the Republic of Ireland: 1950-1973
Abstract:
Trends in mortality for chronic bronchitis, influenza and pneumonia are examined for the period 1950-1973. Bronchitis and pneumonia mortality show progressive increases while influenza has declined consistently. Anomalies associated with specific age/sex/location sub-groups are analysed and correlations between bronchitis mortality and tobacco consumption examined.
