Background:

Robot-assisted laparoscopy is increasingly adopted in gynecologic surgery.
This technology presents new applications and surgical experiences.

Purpose of the Study:

To review the adoption, experience, and applications of robot-assisted laparoscopy in gynecologic surgery.

Main Methods:

Review article synthesizing literature.
Analysis of initial experience with 37 robot-assisted procedures.

Main Results:

Procedures include hysterectomy, myomectomy, and lymph node dissection.
Robot-assisted surgery shows similar clinical outcomes, reduced blood loss, and shorter hospital stays compared to open surgery, despite longer operating times.

Conclusions:

Robot-assisted gynecologic surgery demonstrates potential benefits.
Further prospective studies are essential to assess long-term outcomes, complications, cost-effectiveness, and quality of life.
