Background:

Post-nucleotomy syndrome encompasses persistent sequelae following lumbar disc herniation surgery.
Symptoms include axial lumbar back pain and ongoing radiculopathy.

Purpose of the Study:

To elucidate the underlying pathologies of post-nucleotomy syndrome.
To identify and evaluate operative treatment strategies.

Main Methods:

Comprehensive literature review conducted using the Medline database.

Main Results:

Despite numerous developed devices and approaches over decades, treatment for post-nucleotomy syndrome remains complex.
Both surgical and non-surgical therapeutic interventions frequently demonstrate limited success.

Conclusions:

There is a critical need for higher-quality studies.
Improved evidence is required for each distinct sub-entity of post-nucleotomy syndrome to guide effective treatment.
