Dentigerous cysts, a subset of maxillary cysts, are associated with unerupted teeth and typically affect young adults.
While rare in children, dentigerous cysts can present as unilateral maxillary tumors.

Observation:

This study details an unusual case of a dentigerous cyst in a healthy child.
The lesion presented as a unilateral maxillary tumor, requiring careful evaluation.
The cyst encompassed the crown of a permanent, unerupted, impacted tooth.

Findings:

Dentigerous cysts are typically slow-growing and asymptomatic until they impact surrounding structures.
The prevalence in 6-7 year olds is noted at 9.1%, indicating rarity in this age group.
