Severe uremic pruritus (UP) in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients on hemodialysis (HD) can be effectively treated with the Goeckerman regimen when conventional therapies fail. This treatment combines coal tar, corticosteroids, and UVB phototherapy for intractable itching.
