Prepubertal heifers versus cows-The differences in the follicular environment

Cow oocytes are of higher quality than heifer oocytes due to differences in the follicular environment, including higher lipid droplet content and glucose levels in cows. This suggests sexual maturity impacts oocyte quality and developmental potential.
