Background:

Osteoporosis is a prevalent chronic metabolic disease causing significant disability.
Acupuncture is widely used for osteoporosis, but evidence of its effectiveness is uncertain.

Purpose of the Study:

To systematically review and appraise the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for treating osteoporosis.

Main Methods:

A comprehensive literature search will be conducted across multiple databases for randomized controlled trials.
Data on pain, bone mineral density, fractures, mortality, and quality of life will be extracted.
Quantitative and descriptive analyses will be performed using Review Manager software.

Main Results:

This section is to be populated upon completion of the review.
