Summary

Endovenous laser ablation and thigh stripping show high initial success for varicose veins. However, thigh stripping resulted in better long-term venous function recovery compared to laser ablation.

Background:

  • Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) and thigh stripping (ST) are established treatments.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare surgical outcomes and venous function between EVLA (980-nm diode laser) and ST.
  • To evaluate the efficacy and safety of these two varicose vein treatments.
