Summary

Saliva mouthrinse samples (MSP) offer a simpler alternative to paper point subgingival plaque sampling (MT4) for detecting periodontal pathogens. While MT4 detected more key pathogens, MSP showed comparable results for Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans.
