1Quality Improvement in Clinical Education Research Center, Education Development Center, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shiraz, Iran.
This study evaluated Shiraz University of Medical Sciences' first virtual master program using the P3 e-learning model. Students found course design excellent but technical support lacking, highlighting areas for e-learning improvement.
Area of Science:
- Medical Education
- E-learning
Background:
- E-learning involves creating and delivering content for virtual learners.
- The study focuses on evaluating the inaugural virtual master's program in medical education at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.
Purpose of the Study:
- To evaluate the effectiveness of the first virtual master's program in medical education.
- Utilize the P3 e-learning model as the evaluation framework.
Main Methods:
- Employed an evaluation research design with a post single-group approach.
- Collected data from 60 students and 21 experts (teachers, directors).
- Utilized a 5-point Likert scale evaluation tool based on the P3 e-learning model.
Main Results:
- Students rated storyboard and course design highly (2.30±0.76).
- Technical support received the lowest rating (1.17±1.23).
Conclusions:
- Implementing evaluation frameworks like the P3 model is crucial for efficient e-learning curriculum delivery.
- Standardized evaluation tools can enhance the quality and effectiveness of current and future e-learning programs in higher education.
