Prostate Artery Embolization for Complete Urinary Outflow Obstruction Due to Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy

Prostatic artery embolization (PAE) is safe and effective for relieving urinary symptoms in benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) patients with acute urinary retention (AUR). Outcomes were comparable to patients without AUR, demonstrating successful catheter weaning.
