Matrix metalloproteinases-2 (MMP-2) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2 (TIMP-2) expression correlates with oral squamous cell carcinoma progression. Higher MMP-2/TIMP-2 levels indicate increased tumor invasion and metastasis, impacting patient survival.
