Transfusing one red blood cell (RBC) unit at a time is feasible, especially for patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). This single-unit RBC transfusion strategy significantly reduced RBC consumption in the allo-HSCT subgroup without adverse effects.
