Bladder leiomyosarcomas are aggressive tumors with poor prognosis. This case highlights anterior pelvic exenteration and urinary diversion as a primary treatment for high-grade bladder leiomyosarcoma.

Background:

Bladder leiomyosarcomas are rare, highly aggressive soft tissue tumors.
These tumors are associated with a poor prognosis and limited treatment options.

Observation:

A case of high-grade leiomyosarcoma originating in the bladder is presented.
The tumor was primarily treated with anterior pelvic exenteration and urinary diversion.

Findings:

Radical cystectomy with wide margins is considered an effective treatment for bladder leiomyosarcomas.
This case demonstrates an alternative surgical approach for localized bladder leiomyosarcoma.

Implications:

Anterior pelvic exenteration may be a viable option for select cases of bladder leiomyosarcoma.
