Does Breastfeeding Protect Young Infants From Pertussis? Case-control Study and Immunologic Evaluation

Breastfeeding does not appear to protect unvaccinated infants from pertussis (whooping cough). Further research is needed to find alternative strategies to prevent this serious infant infection.
