Accelerated aortic stenosis

A 56 year-old woman presented in congestive heart failure 4 weeks after cardiac catheterization. By repeat catheterization, the mean gradient across the native aortic valve had progressed from 10 mm Hg to 51 mm Hg. In patients with calcific-degenerative valvular disease, the rapid worsening of aortic stenosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of recurrent heart failure.
