Corticosteroid-binding globulin cleavage may be pathogen-dependent in bloodstream infection

Infection lowers corticosteroid-binding globulin (CBG) levels, indicating cleavage and cortisol release. Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection showed the most significant CBG reduction, suggesting pathogen-specific effects on cortisol regulation during infection.
