Association between Pre-Operative Cefazolin Dose and Surgical Site Infection in Obese Patients

For obese surgical patients weighing over 100kg, a two gram dose of cefazolin shows similar surgical site infection rates compared to a three gram dose. This finding challenges current guidelines recommending higher doses for heavier patients.
