Adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL), a CD4+ T-cell cancer caused by human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1), requires precise clinical classification for prognosis and treatment. Preventing HTLV-1 transmission, especially via breastfeeding, is key to reducing ATL incidence.
