Summary

Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) successfully monitored forearm muscle oxygenation during maximal handgrip exercises. Reduced hemoglobin (HbR) increased as force declined, while oxygenated hemoglobin (HbO) remained constant, establishing baseline hemodynamic function.
